Women's Golf Places Fourth At State Championships

The "Morro Bay Hex" got to the Reedley College Tiger women.s golf team Sunday and Monday at the California Community College Athletic Association Women.s Golf Championships.


While Modesto went from four strokes out to nine strokes ahead and the Tigers went from second place to fourth place. Modesto now has its third state title since 2017. Reedley. so the team total was 341-344–685 19 strokes behind their Big Eight Conference rivals.


Individually, Keanha Castillo finished fourth in the state, six strokes behind Individual 87 Shimoji of Canyons and 13 strokes ahead of teammate Maddie Reed, who finished in a tie for seventh at 80–83—-163. Modesto has five golfers shooting between 167 and 168.
Others Reedley scores were Gabrielle Jasso, tied for 26th  at 91-83—-174, followed by Meghan Hansen, tied for 33rd at 89-89 — 178, and Melanie Davila, tied for. 44th out of 56 golfers with an 84-87—-171


Reedley College played host to the Northern California women's golf championships last weekend at the DragonFly Golf Course in Madera on Nov. 7-8,
The tournament was similar to Big Eight Conference tournaments held there in the past. Modesto took first, Reedley took second as a team, and Reedley's Maddie Reed took medalist honors and shot 90. Keahana Castillo took third.
