The Tigers played Big 8 Conference Tournament #1 at Kings River Golf & Country Club with a terrific round of golf, shooting a KRGCC team record score of 325, 90 shots better than the 2nd place team that day! The weather was very accommodating for the players on the day, as the majority of the afternoon was filled with sun, a slight breeze, and very comfortable temperatures in the low 90's. The Tigers took advantage of the tremendous scoring conditions, finishing with 4 of the top 6 scorers on the day. Leading the way for the Tigers was Monica Yu, the overall tournament Medalist, who shot a terrific score of 77. Monica was 4 shots better than the next best player on the day! Serena DiMauro also had a very solid day, posting a round of 9-over par 81. Mya Chao followed with another solid performance, firing an 11-over par round of 83. Alyssa Bendure capped the scoring for the Tigers on the afternoon, shooting a respectable round of 84. The Tigers collected 16 points in the Big 8 standings and improved their season record to 2-0. Big 8 Tournament #2 will take place next Tuesday at North Kern Golf Course in Bakersfield. Taft College will be the host school at this neutral site. Tee time is scheduled for 12:00 noon.
