Tigers Play in Desert Classic in Palm Springs

September 1-2, 2017  -  On a very warm and calm morning in Palm Springs, with temperatures in the mid 90's, the Tigers opened the season by competing in the Desert Golf Classic at Tahquitz Golf Club, hosted by SBCC.  Reedley did not have enough players to shoot a team score, leaving them with 2 Individuals to play in the tournament.  The leading scorer for the Tigers was Sophomore Hannah Lovering, who posted a very solid score of 75. Hannah was the 4th best individual score for the 1st Round, carding 5 Birdies and 6 Bogeys. Freshman Kaitlyn Perez shot a 110 for her 1st round score. Round 2 saw the Tigers playing on a somewhat muggy Monday morning, with very little wind and temperatures again in the 90's.  Leading the way for Reedley was Hannah Lovering, who posted a good round of 76. Hannah made 4 Birdies on the day.  Kaitlyn Perez shot a round of 112.  Hannah was named to the All-Tournament Team, finishing in 4th place out of 64 golfers.  It was a terrific way to begin the 2017 season!  Next up is C.V.C. Tournament #1 at Fig Garden Golf Club on Tuesday.  Fresno City College will be the host, and tee times are scheduled to begin at 12:00 noon.
