Despite a cold shooting night (32 for 91) from the floor, the Reedley College women's basketball team rolled to a 77-51 victory over the Gavilan College Rams on Tuesday night in Reedley.
Head Coach Dan Kilbert's squad will take a 2-0 record into the Palomar College Tournament on Thursday when they face Long Beach City College at 5 pm.
Against Gavilan, sophomore Nyla Curtis led the Tigers with 17 points and 17 rebounds. Eight of those points came in the first quarter as Reedley opened up a 25-6 lead. Twelve of Gavilan's 37 turnovers came in the opening 10 minutes.
I'man Conley netted half of her 16 points in the third quarter as Reedley out scored the Rams 25-12. That increased the Tiger lead to 62-34. Zavia Barlow netted a pair of 3-pointers and finished with 14 points.
All nine of the Lady Tigers that saw action in the contest scored.
Sadie Allen led the 1-2 Rams with 17 points.
