The Tigers lost a close game Saturday in their Golden Coast League opener. The Tigers were up 14-7 at half time but Hartnell scored two TD's in the third quarter to take a 7 point lead. The Tigers scored again in the fourth quarter but failed to complete the PAT, leaving the Cougars with a one point lead. The Tigers defense got the ball back in the fourth, the offense took the ball and started a game winning drive. There efforts fell short after Hartnell came away with an interception in the end zone. 

Statistical leaders for the Tigers included:

Randall R. Johnson was 8-18 for 64 yards 1 TD and 2 int. Johnson also caught a 67 yard TD from Will McKinnis in the first quarter. 

Trevion D. Perryman had 9 carries for 48 yards. 

Isaiah C. Tigler had one interception.
