Jennifer Uresti – Head Coach, Reedley College Volleyball
Jennifer is entering her second year as the head coach of Reedley College Volleyball. In just one
season, the program has made tremendous strides in competitiveness, culture, and commitment.
With a strong foundation in place and a promising roster ahead, the future of Tiger Volleyball is
bright.
A Valley native, Jennifer is proud to have returned home after 25 years in the Bay Area. Her
coaching journey spans nearly three decades, including experience at every level of high school
and club volleyball. Most notably, she was part of the coaching staff for the 2022 CIF State
Champion Girls Volleyball team at Berean Christian High School and the 2023 CIF NorCal
Regional Runner-Up Boys Volleyball team.
Jennifer’s volleyball roots run deep. A graduate of Sierra High School, she was a CIF Division
III State Champion. Her collegiate career began at Reedley College under the legendary Shirley
Gustafson, where she became the first Tiger volleyball player named a First Team AVCA All-
American and was later inducted into the Tiger Athletic Hall of Fame. She completed her playing
career at Fresno State, earning a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education.
Jennifer and her husband, Xavier, have two children who both continued their volleyball
journeys at the collegiate level. Outside the gym, she enjoys quality time with family and friends,
walking her dogs, and exploring the outdoors—whether at Bass Lake, along the Central Coast, or
wherever the road leads.
Jennifer is passionate about teaching the game through solid fundamentals, a strong work ethic,
and a genuine love for the sport that extends beyond the gym. She believes in a transformational
coaching approach—one that prioritizes building meaningful relationships, developing character,
and helping athletes grow both on and off the court.
