Tiger Soccer Results From Week 1 of Conference

It was a tough week and a tough start in the Central Valley Conference for the 2019 Reedley College women's soccer team.

Head Coach Onesta Francis' squad dropped the conference opener at Taft on Oct. 15 by a 2-1 score before coming out on the short end of a 3-0 score at home Friday night against the state's second-ranked team, the 13-0-1 Fresno City College Rams. The losses dropped Reedley to 6-4-1 on the season.

"A tough week is right," said Coach Francis. "At Taft and come home to Fresno is probably the toughest possible league schedule. Those are two very athletic and well-coached teams. For the most part, we held our own. But details make the difference. I think we will learn from these challenges and hopefully come back stronger next week."

Both of Reedley's next opponents are also 0-2 in CVC action. West Hills Lemoore comes to Reedley on Tuesday, Oct. 22. The Golden Eagles dropped 2-0 decisions to both Clovis and Taft.

The Tigers are also at home on Friday night, entertaining the College of the Sequoias at 6 pm. The Giants opened conference play with an 8-0 loss to Fresno City and a 4-0 loss to Clovis.

Sabrina Cabrera had the only Reedley goal in the loss to Taft.
