Men's Golf Wins A Tough NorCal Tournament.

On a cool and windy day at the Van Sweet Invitational, the Tigers WON the 9-Team tournament against every team from Northern California.  Reedley shot a solid team score of 390 on the very difficult Stockton Golf & Country Club layout, 35 shots over par for the day, and outlasting Napa Valley College with the 6th man tie-breaking score.  Considering that most of the Reedley team had never seen the course until the morning of the tournament, their effort on the day was decent!  The leading scorer for the Tigers was Emil Eriksson, who shot a score of 4-over par 75.  Emil finished in 2nd place overall on the day in the 50-man field!! Miguel Villa was next with a solid round of 76 (+5).  Emil and Miguel both made the Top 6 All-Tournament Team.  Miguel and Emil were playing in the #3 and #4 spots respectively in the Tigers lineup on the day, showing the talent and depth of the RC Tiger lineup!! The next best score for Reedley was Jack Peters, who posted a round of 77.  Cole Obrigewitsch came in with a 79 carded on the day.  Zac Ruskofsky posted an 83 to cap the scoring for the Tigers.  Jacob Moller's 84 was the tie-breaking score that enabled the Tigers to claim the victory. The 1st place tournament finish for the Tigers was a terrific victory so early in the season, and their 2nd straight Van Sweet Invitational wins, but the Tigers know that there is a lot more golf left to play.  Next up on the schedule is the Riverside City Tiger Invitational at The Victoria Club in Riverside, a town about 45 east of Los Angeles in Southern California. The host school is Riverside City College, a very competitive team from the Inland Division of the tough Orange Empire Conference. The Tigers will be bringing their Top 6 guys to the tournament to compete on the day.  A shotgun start is scheduled for 11:30 am.
