Men's Golf Wins Another Big 8 Tournament

Under pleasant weather conditions, with temperatures in the mid-60's and some mild coastal breezes, the Tigers battled the tough Del Monte Golf Course, the oldest course in the United States west of the Mississippi River, and shot a team score of 384.  The Tigers came in 1st place on the day by 14 strokes, even though they did not play their best golf.  Leading the way for Reedley College was the duo of Tommy O'Rourke and Morgan Cooper, who shot a 4 over par rounds of 76, and finished in a T-2nd individually.  Dylan Otto and Beau Willett both posted the next best rounds of 77, also finishing in the Top 5.  Bailey Flickinger rounded out the scoring on the afternoon with a 78.  The Tigers were not as sharp on this day, and made some mistakes on the tough Charles Maud design.  Reedley was not satisfied with their effort, and know that they must continue to improve as they get closer to the end of the regular season.  The Tigers' record in the conference now stands at 32-0, winning all 8 conference tournaments to date, and overall the Tigers are a perfect 35-0 on the season.  The Tigers still hold an 8 tournament advantage over the Fresno City team.  Reedley has 80 points, and 2nd place FCC has 46 total points.  Reedley only has two more tournaments left in the 2018 Big 8 Conference regular season.  The focus for this team is now to finish the regular season strong and get ready for the Northern California Regional Championships in May.  Next up on the schedule is a tournament at Hunter Ranch Golf Course in Paso Robles on Monday after Spring Break.  Reedley College is the host for this neutral site event. The tournament is slated to begin with tee times at 12:30 on April 22nd on the Central Coast.
