Reedley Takes Sixth at Sandpiper Invitational

On a warm, sunny and beautiful afternoon on the Central Coast, in the city of Goleta, the Tigers came out and played a very efficient round of team golf at Sandpiper Golf Club.  Reedley posted a team score of 388, 28 shots over par for the five counting scores, finishing in 6th place out of 12 of the State's most talented teams that played in the tournament.  Leading the way was Freshman Adam Nelson, who shot a terrific round of 1 under par 71.  Adam made 5 Birdies on the afternoon, and finished in T-3rd place individually in the strong field of 72 players. Morgan Cooper posted a very solid round of 76, followed by Amar Manku and Bailey Flickinger, who both carded rounds of 80.  Dylan Otto completed the scoring for the Tigers on the day with an 81. The Preview Tournament, hosted by SBCC, was a great opportunity for the Tigers to learn the golf course that will be utilized for the State Championships later in May.  The Tigers now look forward to returning to Central Valley Conference play when they host their neutral tournament at Visalia Country Club. The Tigers have already clinched the Conference Championship for 2018, which is the 7th Championship in the last 8 years for the Reedley College men's golf program!  The key is to continue to improve and prepare for the upcoming Post Season. Tee time is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. in Visalia next Wednesday.
