Men's Basketball Battles Fresno City College

The Reedley College men's basketball team led fifth-ranked Fresno City College for 37 of the 40 minutes Saturday night in Reedley.

But then, the shots stopped going in. The Tigers did not score in the final 2:51 and the Rams scored the game's final 11 points in a 79-71 Central Valley Conference victory. FCC improved to 6-0 in the CVC and 17-3 overall while the Tigers fell to 3-3 and 12-8.

Uriah Carter led Reedley with 30 points and 10 steals before fouling out with 51 seconds remaining. Hassan Bolden followed with 23 points but had only seven in the second half. Keshaun Bruner led the Rams with 26 points.

"Momentum was a huge thing, especially at the end," said Tiger head coach T.J.Jennings. "We just didn't make enough shots to beat team them."The key thing that we have to take is that we can compete with anybody in the state."

On Jan. 22, the Tigers picked up a 94-84 road win over Merced College. Carter led the way with 32 points, nine rebounds, and six steals while Bolden followed with 20 points, 10 rebounds, and six steals. Braxton Hicks added 16 points and six rebounds.

Reedley returns to the court on Wednesday, Jan. 29 hosting Porterville at 7 pm before starting the second round of conference action Saturday in a 5 pm game at West Hills Lemoore.
