Men's Basketball Goes 1-2 At Foothill College Tournament

The Reedley College men's basketball Tigers finished the 2019 portion of the 2019-2020 schedule with one win in three games last week.

Coach T.J. Jennings' squad will take a 9-5 record into their next game, a Jan. 8 Central Valley Conference opener at home with the West Hills Lemoore Golden Eagles.

"Obviously the weekend didn't go as desired," said the coach, "but I was extremely proud of our guys battled and competed all weekend. We faced many challenges and took everyone's best shot but we never gave up."

"With a preseason record of 9-5, we set ourselves up to compete in the most competitive conference in the state with four teams in the top 30. I feel we have a lot of room to improve and grow but I'm thankful to get out of the preseason healthy and excited what 2020 will bring."

Columbia is currently ranked fourth in the state with a 10-0 record. College of the Sequoias is ranked ninth, followed by Fresno City at 13 with the Tigers ranked 30th.

The Tigers open the weekend with an 83–75 loss to De Anza. Richard Corona led the Reedley attack with 17 points while Uriah Carter followed with 12. In the 72-59 win over San Jose on Saturday, Hassan Bolden had 30 points while Carter added 15. In Sunday's 68-66 loss to Foothill, Carter had 26 points. Anthony Martinez followed with 13 points and Bolden with 12.
