Reedley Football Wins Over West-Hills Coalinga

Seven different Tigers found the end zone as the Reedley College Tiger football team broke a two-game losing streak Saturday with a come-from-behind 49-17 victory over the West Hils College Falcons in Coalinga.

The Tigers now take a 5-3 season recorded and a conference mark of 1-2 into Saturday's 1 pm battle with the College of the Sequoias Giants on the campus field in Visalia. 

Sequoias, after falling to Fresno City by one point on Oct. 23, improved to 3-3 this season with a 16-0 victory over Sacramento City College in Sacramento last Saturday afternoon. The COS defense held the Panthers to just 208 yards and minus-five rushing yards in the win.

After West Hills took the opening kickoff 63 yards but settled for a 20-yard field goal, the Tigers answered with a 58-yard drive capped by Josh Magana's 26-yard scoring pass to Jalen Jackson. It was one of Jackson's five receptions in the game for a total of 79 yards.

On the first play of the second quarter, tea k capital y Posey scored from 5 yards out. West Hills cut the lead to 1410 before the Tigers scored 28 unanswered points to put the game out of reach.

Tamicus Napier started the onslaught by scoring five yards out before Jordan Solomon threw touchdown passes to Camden Williams, Shamar Kirk, and Josh Higgins. Magana added a short scoring pass to Marquez Anderson.

The two quarterbacks combined to complete 23 and 26 passes and we're only sacked once. The Tigers finished with 396 yards, 213 in the air, and were 11 or 13 on third down

Really had 10 players carry the ball and 10 players receive the ball.

Jaden Pearson, Rolph Michel, and Lazavier Moore were each in on four tackles to lead the Tigers while Pearson also had an interception. West Hills, held to 198 net yards, is now 0-5 on the season.
