Baseball finishes CVC at Home with Commanding Win vs. Porterville

Porterville College scored the first run of the April 25 Central Valley Conference baseball contest with the Reedley College Tigers in Reedley.

In their final scheduled regular season home game, the Tigers roared back with the next 18 runs on the way to a 18-3 victory over the Pirates at Tiger Field.

With the win, Reedley remained in second place in the CVC, one game behind leader Fresno City College.

The Tigers, ranked 11th in the latest California Community College baseball coaches association poll, were led by three singles and a double by eighth place hitter Mikey Ramirez. Will Gagnon, who alllowed one run and five hits in five innings of work, picked up the win to improve to 6-1 on the season. Four pitchers combined to hold Porterville to five hits compared to 22 for the Tigers.
