Tiger Baseball Postseason Awards

Two Reedley College baseball standouts, infielder Deagan Risnes (Lake Arrowhead) and outfielder Josh Mares, were named last week to the all-Central Valley Conference first team.

Mares, a sophomore from Selma, announced last week that he will be continuing his baseball career at Mount Marty College in Yankton, SD. Former Tigers DJ West and Jackson Leach are currently on the Lancers roster.

Current catcher Danny Gamez and infielder Hans Brown were named to the all-CVC second team while infielder Gabe Grijalva and pitcher Peyton McNair were honorable mention selections.

Elsewhere, six former Reedley College Tigers are members of the York College baseball team in Nebraska, that qualified last weekend for the opening round of the NAIA National Tournament. The list includes pitchers Evan Sagariballa (5-3, 4.48 ERA), Spencer Jones (1.76, 9 saves), Casey Wagnon, Dallin Cornelious and Aaron Alvarez and catcher Matt Nunes, who is second on the 29-21 Panthers with a .337 batting average.\
