KNIGHTS BATTLE TO THE END BUT FALL SHORT, 35-33

In a thrilling match-up between Reedley and Shasta on September 28, 2024, Reedley emerged victorious with a narrow 35-33 win over Shasta. The game was full of exciting plays and high scoring action, keeping fans on the edge of their seats until the final whistle.

The first quarter saw Shasta take an early lead with Jahari Johnson's 3-yard touchdown giving Shasta a 7-0 lead after a successful kick by Diego Almodovar-Urquidez.  Reedley responded quickly with a 24-yard pass from Ty Chambers to LaDanian Streets, tying the game at 7-7. Shasta managed to maintain a slim lead at the end of the first quarter with a score of 10-7. However, Reedley fought back in the second quarter, scoring two touchdowns to take a 21-17 lead into halftime.

Shasta rallied late in the game with two quick touchdowns and despite two interceptions in the fourth quarter Shasta's valiant comeback efforts didn't avail against Reedley's early lead and key defensive stands and ultimately fell short as Reedley held on for the 35-33 victory.

Israel Robles had a standout performance for Reedley, scoring two rushing touchdowns, while Joseph Bass also added a rushing touchdown. For Shasta, Levi Durrell had a strong game with two rushing touchdowns and a passing touchdown and Jason Abbey had 21 carries for 92 yards.

Overall, it was a hard-fought game between two competitive teams, with Reedley ultimately coming out on top. Fans can look forward to more exciting matchups as the season progresses.
