The Tigers finished strong in CVC winning 5 of their last 7 games. They earned a third place finish in the tough Central Valley Conference which has given the Reedley College Lady Tigers a first round home game in the 3C2A Nor Cal Regionals this year.
Coach Dan Kilbert's Lady Tiger squad hosts the College of San Mateo Bulldogs at 7 pm at Paul Mitchell Court on Wednesday, Feb. 26. This will be a battle between the 15th and 18th seeded teams in Norcal. The winner travels to Stockton Saturday to face the second seeded San Joaquin Delta Mustangs in a second round game. The Saturday winner advances to the State Tournament at Mount San Antonio College in Walnut March 14-16.
Reedley closed out the regular season Friday with a come from behind 81-78 win over fifth place Merced. Going into the fourth quarter, Reedley trailed 68-54 before out scoring the She Devils 27-18 in the final ten minutes.
Raquel Cortez (Reedley) led the Tigers with 21 points. Tianna Sutherland was next with 17 while Karizma Truong (Sanger) had 14. Taylor Sutherland added 10 in the win.
Two nights before, Reedley fell to second place Fresno City College 66-48. FCC outscored the Tigers 24-10 in the final quarter to hold off a Reedley comeback attempt.
Taylor Sutherland and Truong both had 11 points to lead Reedley.
The Tigers finished 8-4 in CVC action.Come on out and support the Tigers this Wednesday!
