Reedley, CA – The Reedley basketball teams were in top form on February 15, 2025, securing two hard-fought victories in an exciting doubleheader. The men's team dominated Coalinga 85-58, while the women's squad edged out Taft in a thrilling 93-90 finish.


Men's Game: Reedley Dominates Coalinga 85-58

The Reedley men's basketball team put on an impressive show against Coalinga, winning 85-58 behind a strong second half. After taking a 37-28 lead into halftime, Reedley came out firing in the second half, outscoring Coalinga 48-30 to cruise to the victory.

Key Performances:

  • Reedley: Kuman Chandler led the way with 17 points, while Matt Ruegge added 12 points. Devon Marshall chipped in with 16 points and 7 rebounds, and Preston Kilbert contributed 12 points and 5 assists.
  • Coalinga: Josiah Perez-Little scored 10 points and grabbed 8 rebounds, while Donovan Johnson added 10 points, including two 3-pointers.

Reedley's high shooting percentage (62.1%) and stifling defense allowed them to open up a commanding lead. The team's well-balanced offense, combined with strong ball movement (27 assists), helped them dominate across all areas of the game.


Women's Game: Reedley Edges Taft 93-90 in a Nail-Biter

The Reedley women's team was in for a fight against Taft, with both teams trading baskets throughout the game. After leading 46-42 at halftime, Reedley was able to hold off a late push from Taft, securing a 93-90 victory in a thrilling finish.

  • Reedley: Karisma Truong led the charge with 20 points, including an 8-for-9 performance from the free-throw line. Alexis Holland added 13 points, and Taylor Sutherland played a crucial role, contributing 16 points and 12 rebounds. Raquel Cortez also helped out with 7 points off the bench.
  • Taft: Alyah Blackwater was the standout player for Taft, scoring 21 points with 8 assists and 8 rebounds. Madyn Kassatly also had a strong performance, finishing with 20 points and 8 rebounds.
