The Reedley College men's basketball team got back to .500 in conference play with a 74-71 victory over Lemoore College Saturday night at Paul Mitchell Court .
The team battled through adversity and showed grit and determination in their win vs. Lemoore College on Saturday. Top scorers Matt Ruegge (broken non shooting hand) has been out for a couple of weeks, and Preston Kilbert's extreme hustle for a loose ball resulted in a 1st-half injury that kept him out for the remainder of the the contest. But the Tigers fought on and had a run of 10 straight points midway in the second half that proved to be the difference for Coach TJ Jennings' squad, as they improved to 4-4 in the CVC and 8-14 overall.
Devon Marshall led the winners with 24 points while Kuman Chandler was right behind with 23. Dinuba's Brice Watley added nine points while Kilbert had six before leaving the game.
In the win over Merced, Chandler led the way with 20 points while Marshall had 19 points and Kilbert followed with 18. Andre Williams had 10 points off the bench, making all four of his shots from the floor.
This week, the Tigers are scheduled to host conference leader College of the Sequoias on Wednesday, Feb. 5 at 7pm before a Saturday trip to Sonora to face Columbia.
