
The Reedley Tigers men's and women's basketball teams are off to a good start for the 2024-25 season.
TIGER WOMEN's BASKTEBALL HIGHLIGHTS
The women's team is coming off a successful playoff season last year and has picked up where they left off. The women's team is 4-3 overall in non-conference play. With strong performances vs. Cosumnes River and Bakersfield College, the women's team is shaping up nicely with a good mix of Sophomore and Freshman talent. The team has been led by Taylor Sutherland, Alexis Holland, Jacquiline Ruiz, and Raquel Cortez in point leaders. Sutherland is in the top five conference ranking for points per game (15.7), rebounds per game (10.3), and FG Pct. at 52.5%. The women are back on the road for the remainder of December and play Cuesta & Gavilan on the 18th & 19th. Conference play begins Jan 8 @ Lemoore College, with the Tiger home opener on Jan. 25th vs. Fresno City College.
TIGER MEN'S BASKETBALL HIGHLIGHTS
The Reedley Tiger Men's team started out of the gates with a 81-70 win vs. Bakersfield College. The Tigers only have one active returner from last season in Sophomore Matt Ruegge who leads the team in total points at 94. Freshman Devon Marshall leads the Central Valley Conference in 3pt. Pct at 63.6%. In all the team has a balanced offense and ranked 1st in 3-pointers per game ave. along with a 1st ranking in 3pt. pct. After beating Napa Valley on Monday 80-73, the Tigers will face Gavilan College tonight at 4pm at Home on Paul Mitchell Court. With a win the Tigers can level their record before the Thanksgiving break. The have an active December with a road tournament at Cosumnes River and two road games vs. Cerro Coso College and Skyline College. Their last home game of the fall semester will be on Thursday Dec. 19th at 3pm vs. San Mateo College.
