Tiger Women's Golf Finishes 3rd at 3C2A State Championship!

The Reedley Tiger Women's Golf Team place 3rd in the 3C2A State Championship for the second consecutive year.  The Tigers fought hard through strong windy conditions at Monarch Dunes in Nipomo, CA.  The Tigers were sitting in 2nd place after Day 1 with Modesto JC leading by 8 and Mt. San Antonio College behind them by 1 stroke.  Scores from Day 1 were as follows:  Asequia - 78; Promswonga - 77; Arredondo 80, and Sever-81 for a one day total of 316

Day two would prove to be an uphill battle however.  The Tigers saw improvement by Jaycie Johnson who posted an 81 and consistent solid play by Miya Promwongsa who shot 77 & 74 for a two-day total of 151.  That score would qualify her as fourth overall and a selection to the All-State Team for the 3C2A Championship Tournament. The Tigers battled but couldn't quite get the edge and fell to a 329 team score on day two for a tournament team score of 645.  The eventual champion was Mt. SAC who posted a 631 and Modesto placed 2nd with a 638.

In all the Tigers had a good season, winning the NorCal Regional and the Big 8 championship. Sophomore Ethel Asequia was named the Big 8 Conference Champion.
