Equestrian Shines in their Opening Weekend of IHSA Shows

The Tiger Equestrian team opened the IHSA season with a pair of shows this past weekend at the COS Tulare Campus, and did so in style.  The Tigers compete in IHSA Zone 8 Regon 1 and after day 1, the Tigers were awarded as the Reserve High Point Team (2nd Place) behind Cal Poly SLO.  Our very own Taylor Brown received Reserve High Point Rider honors amongst a field of riders from Stanford, Cal Poly SLO, Cal Poly Pomona, Sonoma State, UC Davis, and COS.

We also had rider Katie Washburn (pictured below)  "point up" from the 12A to 12B level in western horsemanship.

On day two; which was technically our own home show, Taylor Brown placed 2nd in Reining (Class 17).  Jen Gomez placed 2nd in Beginner Western Horsemenship (Class 11), Sage Emry place 3rd in Level 1 horsemanship (Class 13), Ren Schmidt placed 4th in Level 2 horsemanship (Class 14), and the team as a whole placed 3rd overall.

Coach Desi stated, "I couldn't be more proud of this team for their first show!.  They all worked so hard in and out of the arena helping with the horses and contributing to a successful show!".

Next up for the Tigers is their show at Cal Poly SLO on Jan. 25-26

 GO TIGERS!!
