Tiger Soccer Start Conference Play on a Positive Note vs. Lemoore College

The Tigers begin Central Valley Conference (CVC) play with a resounding win!   They entered the game off of their first win at 1-4-1 and maintained that positive level of play.  They first two goals from penalty kicks.  Jenny Martinez continues her good run of form. She completed 20 dribbles and 14 forward passes in 88 minutes. She took the first and scored the first PK in the 25th minute.

Angelina Rodriguez was dynamic all day. She completed 14 forward dribbles and 5 forward passes in 70 minutes of action. She drew both penalty kicks and scored the second one.

The third and final goal came at the end of the game by Vickie Gonzales off of and excellent cross by Vanessa Galvan.

Defensively, Nevaeh Moncada was very impactful. She had 9 interceptions and 8 tackles in 81 minutes, while still contributing to the attack with 7 forward passes.

In nets, Daisy Vasquez kept a clean sheet with 3 saves and a shutout. It was a big win for her as she played for Lemoore a couple years ago.

"We started an entire freshmen back line (left to right: Genesis Ocampo, Jazmine Castaneda, Chelsea Gonzalez, and Jessica Ugalde). So, it's good to see them come together to keep the clean sheet" said Coach Francis.

The Tigers move to 1-0 in CVC play and are 2-4-1 overall.  They are back in action vs. Taft College this Friday 9/20 at 6pm at Home.

Come on out and watch the action.

GO TIGERS!!
