Volleyball Nets Another Win at the Tiger Invitational

Bakersfield College won their top players, won the Tiger Tri tournament at Reedley's Paul Mitchell Court on Saturday afternoon. Against Bakersfield, the Tigers could not stop Kamryn Briggs and Stevie Yuroks, who combined for 29 kills, 16 by Briggs. The Gades were without 6-2 middle blocker Alexandra Watts, who did not make the trip after recording 30 kills in two earlier BC wins. The Renegades won in three sets: 25-14; 25-21; 25-10.

Reedley captured second place in the three-team tournament with a 3-0 win over Cerro Coso College (1-5 overall).

The Tigers defeated the Coyotes 25-18, 25-15 and 25-17 to improve to 3-7 on the season. It was Reedley's final match before the start of Central Valley Conference play. Coach Jennifer Uresti's squad hosts sixth ranked Fresno City College on Wednesday, Sept. 18: and 12-2 Taft College on Friday, Sept. 2f0.

The FCC match begins at 6 pm while the Taft match begins at 5 pm.

Fresno City's last conference loss came against Reedley in 2018.

Tigers were led by the play of sophomore Jamie Clothier (Immanuel, Kingsburg). Her kill started a run of seven straight points as Reedley increased a first game lead from 17-14 to 23-14.. Her kill ended the second game as Reedley held off a Coyote comeback.
