Women's Basketball Heats Up over Winter Break

The Tiger women's basketball team turned up the heat over winter break! After going on a four game skid at the end of the Fall semester, the Tigers rallied back and won four straight over the winter break to heat up right before Central Valley Conference Play begins.

The Tigers began their winning streak vs. Gavilan winning 68-23. They went on to get revenge vs Imperial Valley (54-50) after they dropped a one point heartbreak loss back in November.  The Tigers then won a pair of games at the Cabrillo Tournament vs. Monterey Peninsula (54-44) and a strong showing vs. Cabrillo (89-43).

Coach Kilbert was pleased to see the turn-around which showed great character and determination in this group.  We have a balanced group that are all contributing to our success.  Leyocha Marigney is leading the CVC in rebounds per game (18.8) and FG pct (50.0%).  The Tigers finishes non-conference play at 9-6 heading into the CVC schedule leading off at Taft College on Wednesday, January 10th @ 6pm.  That game will be live streamed.  The Tigers plan to start off conference play on a strong note.  The #3 team in blocks per game will set out to defend strong and play fast and confident on offense.

Come on out and support our Tigers at their next home game on Saturday, January 20th at 5pm where we meet the Fresno City College Rams!!

GO TIGERS!
