Tiger Football Moves Back Into The National Division

As expected, the Reedley College football team is back in the National Division.

That means the Tigers will again have teams like Fresno City College and the College of the Sequoias on the 2020 schedule.

Reedley replaces San Joaquin Delta in the National Division Valley League, joining Modesto, Sacramento City, West Hills Coalinga, Fresno City, and Sequoias.

Delta was moved into the Big 6 Conference. Feather River was moved from the National Division Nor-Cal League to the American Division's Pacific 7. Delta and Santa Rosa were lateral moves, made to balance the "Power Rankings" of National Division member colleges.

According to a release from Commissioner Gary Kollenborn, the status of Monterey Peninsula and West Hills will be evaluated in two years.

"We are really excited to be back in the CVC," said Tiger head football coach Eric Marty, "and look forward to the challenge and opportunity to bring a state championship back to Reedley, California.

"It has taken lots of hard work and commitment by players, coaches, faculty, and support staff to get to this point, and we look forward to working together to achieving even greater heights in the coming years."

The Tigers were moved out of the Valley Conference in 2011 after a 1-9 season.

The 2020 schedule will be forthcoming.
