Reedley College Football Earns All-Conference Honors

Reedley College will be led into the Dec. 4 Gridiron Classic Bowl in Oroville by seven All-Valley League selections.

Honored by league coaches on offense were running back Tamicus Napier (Blackman HS, TN), and wide receivers Jaylin Jackson (Cambridge Christian HS, FL) and Shemar Kirk (McGarock HS, TN).

On the defensive side, honored players included linebacker Lazavier Moore (Uson-Lee HS, GA), defensive back Jadon Pearson (Williams Field HS, AZ), and defensive linemen Michael Jordan (Monrovia HS, CA) and Gabriel Olmos (Sanger HS, CA).

Honorable mention selections included quarterback Josh Magana (Dinuba), tight end Kandon Williams (Oklahoma), and defensive back Corey Scott (Bullard, Fresno).

Reedley College President Dr. Jerry Buckley had this comment in an email. "Great outcome this year, both individually and for their first year playing at this level in a while. I noticed how the team matured through the season, as well as the effort preparing for and executing during the Fresno City College game."

Reedley College is one of three conference teams still playing this season. On Thursday night, College of the Sequoias travels to Merced for the Valley Center Bowl at 6 pm while Modesto hosts Diablo Valley in the Grizzly Bowl.

On Thanksgiving, Reedley College was mentioned at least three times relating to Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen, who played for the Tigers seven years ago. A former Butte quarterback is Green Bay Packers signal-caller Aaron Rodgers.

Reedley will prepare for Saturday's 1 pm kickoff in Oroville by leaving Reedley on Friday.
