— Jobe Olson made Reedley College's 20th win in 2024 extra special.
Olson pitched a one-hit shutout on Saturday afternoon as the Reedley College Tigers posted a 5-0 Central Valley Conference win over the College of the Sequoias Giants.
A two-out single to right center by Jesse Ortega (Dinuba) in the seventh inning was the only COS hit in the matchup at RC diamond. Olson, a sophomore righthander from Laton, struck out six and worked around three walks.
Nolan Keene (Fresno High) scored on a second inning wild pitch for the only run the Tigers would need. Garrett Garfield (Clovis) smacked two doubles while Colin Rios (Bullard, Fresno) had two singles and a double to lead the Tiger attack.
"Jobe had command of all of his pitches today," said Tiger head coach Steve Pearce. "He located them all. He had a masterful performance that was much needed."
Reedley improved to 9-6 in conference play and 20-10 overall while pulling out one of three meetings ast week between the teams. COS fell to 8-9 and 15-17.
