Women's Basketball Players Receive All Conference Honors

The Reedley College Women's Basketball Team capped off the season with three All Central Valley Conference Honors.  Tianna Sutherland and Leyocha Marigney both received All CVC 1st Team Honors, while Mackayla McGrath received All CVC 2nd Team Honors.

Marigney led the team in points with 380;  in blocks with 32, and 178 rebounds. Sutherland was a close second with 344 but had the most minutes at 696.  McGrath had the third highest points at 105 and had 57 steals and 153 rebounds.

Overall the Tigers went 17-11  and 8-4 in CVC Conference play.  They qualified for the 3C2A NorCal playoffs and lost a heartbreaker by a point at the buzzer vs Shasta College.  

They scored a total of 1779 points, with an average of 65.9 points per game. The team's field goal percentage was .388, with a 3-point field goal percentage of .276. They were strong on the defensive end, recording 272 steals and 155 blocks throughout the season (4th in state).

In terms of rebounding, the team averaged 45.2 rebounds per game, with a total of 1221 rebounds over the season. They were particularly effective on the offensive glass, pulling down 434 offensive rebounds. The team also averaged 12.4 assists per game, with a total of 335 assists.

On the offensive side, the team's leading scorer averaged 24.6 points per game, shooting 32.9% from the field. Their free throw percentage was .551, with an average of 21.8 free throw attempts per game. The team averaged 9.6 offensive rebounds and 29.1 defensive rebounds per game.

Overall, the team showed a strong performance throughout the season, with balanced scoring, solid defense, and strong rebounding. "Their impressive turnaround from the prior year will serve as a great base to build on for next season....I'm really proud of them" stated Coach Kilbert.
