Tiger Baseball Makes a Solid Turnaround

Tiger Baseball Makes a Solid Turnaround

Reedley College broke a three-game losing streak to Mered with back-t0-bacl wins on Tuesday & Thursday over Porterville College.  On Tuesday the Tigers came back after a four run deficit to win 5-4 and then again came back from 2-0 for a 16-5 win over the Porterville College Pirate baseball squad.

With several professional baseball scouts watching, Reedley's Will Gagnon threw six solid innings to pick up his fourth win in five decisions.

Two hits, (one coming on a fly ball lost in the sun) a sacrifice and an error accounted for two unearned runs in the top of the first off Gagnon. In his final five shutout innings, he allowed only one hit, struck out seven and walked one. He raised his season strike out total to 73.

Catcher Garrett Garfield drove in five Reedley runs with two doubles and a single while Colin

Rios had three RBI.

Game three of the Porterville series will be at PC this Saturday, Mar 9th at 1pm

Overall it has been a good response to having been swept by Merced which included a 15-5 loss on Feb. 29.

The Tigers have a break from conference play next week and will start a three-game series at home with Modesto on Tuesday, March 12 at 2pm.
