WBB on the Prowl for Playoffs

After a tough 78-71 loss to Taft College last Saturday, the Tigers bounced back with a decisive 65-57 win vs. West Hills Lemoore College.  The Tigers outscored the Golden Eagles the first three quarters and closed off the game to maintain sole posession of 2nd place in the Central Valley Conference (CVC). With four more conference games left in the season, the Tigers have an 6-2 conferece record and can likely clinch a playoff spot with a couple of wins. With a 15-8 overall record, the playoff format is based upon RPI with the top 24 teams from NorCal and 24 teams from SoCal qualifying for the regional playoffs. The top four from each regional playoffs will be advancing to the 3C2A State Championships @ Mt. San Antonio College on Feb. 14-17th. Right now the Tigers have an RPI in the top 20 of NorCal teams and are poised for a playoff bid.

The Tigers were led on Wednesday night by Freshman Guard, Tianna Sutherland, who scored 17 points, 4 assists, and 5 rebounds.  Makayla McGrath also logged a solid performance leading the team with 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 15 points. Coach Kilbert was pleased to see his team bounce back stating, "The girls came out ready and eager to make a statement, so I was happy to see their positive spirit".
