Volleyball Results For The Week Of 10-21-19

After breaking into the Central valley conference win column, new Reedley College women's volleyball coach Mariah Roby was hoping to see more improvement from the team.
There has been an improvement but it hasn't added up to any more victories.
Reedley fell to 1-10 in the CVC and 2-12 overall after a 25-15, 25-15, 24-26, 26-24 loss at home to Merced College. The loss started the second round of conference play for the Tigers.
" Today's loss felt like a win, said coach Roby. "The girls played better than they have all season and I'm very proud of our performance tonight. There was so much chemistry and a collective desire to win. All odds were against us. But the will was there, and we fought. Again, I am very proud of them."
The coach anticipates more wins in the second round of conference play. " We are stronger, both physically and mentally. We have faced a lot of adversity so far, and the girls have handled it all with fighters mentality. I am very proud of them."
Reedley dropped a 25-10, 25-22, 25-20 decision at Taft on Oct. 25.
The Lady Tigers return to the court on Wednesday, Oct. 30 as they go on the road for a 5 pm match at West Hills Lemoore before hosting first-place Fresno City at 6 PM on Friday night at Paul Mitchell Court. The Rams will bring a 108-match conference winning streak into the contest. It was Reedley that handed FCC their last conference loss.
