Tiger Women's Soccer Ties Allen Hancock

The 2022 Reedley College women's soccer team has started the new season with two wins and a tie. At this writing, they have the best overall record in the conference.


Head Coach Onesta Francis' squad's latest action came on Friday when the Lady Tigers battled Allan Hancock to a 2-2 tie.


Reedley finally plays a home match this Friday, as they host Cabrillo College (1-1) at 7 p.m. The Lady Tigers are scheduled to host Cuesta College on Tuesday, Sept. 13 at 4 p.m. The Cougars' scheduled season opener with the College of the Sequoias on Friday was canceled.


In Friday's tie with Hancock, the Bulldogs tied the match in the 76th minute. Reedley had taken a 2-1 lead in the 47th minute on a goal by Joeline Nuno (Fowler) on an assist by Gabriella Garcia (Fowler) and a goal by Nazira Nunez (Visalia) on a high chip off a throw-in by Gema Sandoval-Anton (Reedley)in the 26th minute. Goalie Areal Galvan (Reedley) was credited with one save.


On Aug. 30, Reedley traveled to Modesto and returned home with a 2-0 victory. First-half goals were scored by Liberty Wolfe (Sanger) and Nunez.
