By a margin of just four strokes, Reedley College has won the California Community College Athletic Association Northern California regional women's golf championship.
The Tigers finished with a team score of 656 compared to 660 for second place Modesto Junior College. Sierra College took third with a team score of 672 while San Joaquin Delta was fourth at 717.
Melanie Anderson, a sophomore from Sierra College, took individual medalist honors with a 78-78=156. Reedley freshman Monica Yu took second at 76-81=156; winning a tiebreaker with freshman Jordan Rooker of Sierra.
The top four teams and the top six individuals not on those teams advance to the California Community College Athletic Association State Championship at the Morro Bay Golf Course on Nov. 17-18.
Other Reedley scores were Mya Chao, sixth overall at 164, Alyssa Bendure, ninth overall at 168, Serena DiMauro at 171, Serena Garcia at 173 and McKenzie Quinn at 176, This is the second NorCal title for Tiger head coach Scott Stark.
