Women's Golf Ties For First At Big 8 Tournament #9

After finishing in a tie with Modesto Junior College on Thursday in Stockton, the Reedley College women's golf team still has a 20-point lead over the Pirates in the Big 8 Conference standings.

Both the Tigers and Modesto finished with a team score of 329. "It was a tough course with lots of out-of-bounds on every hole," said Tiger head coach Scott Stark.

Monica Yu (San Diego) led Reedley with a round of 77 and was two strokes behind Modesto's Natalie Cowan for individual medalist honors.

Other Reedley scores included Mya Chao (Golden West, Visalia) with an 82, Serena DiMauro (Central, Fresno) with an 84, Alyssa Bendure (Clovis North) with an 86, Serena Garcia (Dinuba) with a non-scoring 96 and McKenzie Quinn (Clovis East) with a non-scoring 103.

The tenth and final Big 8 Conference tournament is set for Tuesday, Oct. 29 in Ripon. Dinuba's Ridge Creek Golf Course is scheduled to host the South Division of the NorCal Championships on Monday, Nov. 4.
