Women's Golf WIns At Taft By 55

On a tough course, the Reedley College women's golf team remained undefeated in 2019 by winning the seventh Big 8 Conference tournament by a 334-389 margin over Taft College on Thursday in Taft.

Monica Yu (San Diego) took medalist honors with a 41-36–77. Alyssa Bendure (Clovis North) followed with a 46-38–84 while Mya Chao (Visalia) was right behind at 46-39–85. Serena DiMauro (Central, Fresno) was at 42-46—88.

Non scoring rounds for Reedley included Serena Garcia (Dinuba) with a 44-45–89, McKenzie Quinn (Clovis East) with a 45-44–89, Eliza Hernandez (Sanger) with a 47-42–89, Kayla Hernandez (Paso Robles) with a 47-47–94 and Nikki McArron (Immanuel) with a 50-47–97.

"The course was tough today," said Tiger head coach Scott Stark. "Greens were firm and scoring was tough."

Three of the five Taft players shot under 100, led by Alyssa Irey with a 41-43–84.

The Tigers return to the course on Tuesday, Oct. 22 in Fresno for the eighth Big 8 Tournament before going to Stockton on Oct. 24.
