Women's Golf Beats Taft By 82 Shots

On a sunny and beautiful afternoon in the Kern County city of Taft, with terrific views of the western mountain ranges and temperatures in the mid-'90s, the Tigers finished 1st in a dual match tournament against conference rival Taft College.  Reedley posted a solid team score of 324 and finished 82 shots ahead of Taft College on the afternoon.  Leading the way was Freshman Monica Yu, who shot a solid round of 75, which was the best score of the day. Serena DiMauro carded a good round of 80, Serena Garcia turned in a very respectable round of 84, and Alyssa Bendure posted the 4th and final score as she carded an 85 to finalize the scoring for the Tigers. The Tigers came away with another victory on the season, and are now 5-0 in head to head matches so far this year. The Tigers are showing improvements early in the young season, and are looking to increase their 1st place standing in the Big 8 Conference.  The next tournament for the Tigers in the conference is scheduled for Kings River Golf & Country Club in Kingsburg on Thursday.  Reedley College is the host school for this major conference tournament involving all 8 schools in Northern California.  A shotgun start is scheduled for 1:00 pm.
