Women's Golf Places Fifth At State Championships

On a very warm and calm day on the Central Coast of California at the Morro Bay Golf Course, the Tiger women's golf team competed at the California Community College State Championships.  The conditions definitely played a factor on the day as the Tigers played very solid team golf in Round #1.  Leading the way for the Tigers was the combo of Serena DiMauro and Carley Lindlahr, as both ladies played well tee to green, and shot 81's.  Maddie Caesar got off to a rough start, but righted her round after some early holes, and shot a score of 82. Lauren Costa completed the Day 1 scoring for the Tigers by posting an 89.  The Tigers were in 6th place overall after the first day, but only 3 shots from 3rd place as the teams were bunched together very tightly.  Round #2 proved to be another solid day for the Tigers.  Scoring was still very difficult because of the pin positions on the undulated and very tricky greens.  Serena DiMauro made a significant difference for the Tigers, improving by 7 shots over her Sunday round, posting a very nice 74.  Maddie Caesar again hit the ball very solidly off the tee and posted a very fine score of 79. Eliza Hernandez had an excellent round as well, finishing with an 86.  Lastly, Carley Lindlahr and Serena tied with identical 92's to culminate the scoring for the Tigers on the final day of the 2018 season. Individually, Serena DiMauro finished T-10th with her 155 total.  She missed the Top 6 All-State Team by only 2 shots.  Maddie Caesar finished in a T-18th place with a 161 total, a very respectable total for the Tiger freshman.  Reedley finished in 5th place overall with a team total of 664.  Only Sierra College finished higher than the Tigers from Northern California!  The Tigers had a fantastic season, and the chance to compete at State was a terrific way to end 2018!!  The Reedley College Tiger golf team accomplished a great deal this season.  Many great performances and records were set, and the Tigers have a tremendous amount to be proud of.  The future is very bright as well, and the program looks forward to the future and the 2019 season!!
