Men's Golf Results From The Rig City Invitational

April 11, 2022  -  The Tigers played a non-conference round of golf on Monday at Bakersfield Country Club in the Rig City Invitational, a 12-team tournament with schools from both Northern and Southern California participating.  The weather was comfortable, with temperatures in the low to mid 70's, but with 10-15 mph breezes throughout the afternoon, the golf course played very difficult for this neutral tournament in Bakersfield.  The Tigers shot a round of 406, and finished in a tie for 8th place at the end of the day.  The Tigers struggled with their putting on the tricky greens at B.C.C., making only 5 Birdies on the day as a team.  Leading the way for the Tigers, and placing in the Top 10 overall out of 72 players for the tournament was Cole Obrigewitsch, who posted a solid round of 76. Jack Peters shot a round of 80, contributing 2 Birdies on the day to his efforts. Miguel Villa shot an 82, converting on many of his Up & Down opportunities, and Miguel putted very  solidly. Patrick Sperling and Jacob Moller rounded out the scoring for the Tigers on the afternoon with 84's.  The Tigers were not able to play as well as they would have liked, but with Spring Break taking over the rest of the week, the Tigers will be able to shore up their games for the final push towards the end of the 2022 regular season! Next up on the schedule is a road trip to Chardonnay Golf Course in Napa for a Big 8 Conference Neutral Tournament, hosted by Napa Valley College.  A shotgun start is scheduled for 12:30 pm on Monday.
