Tigers Take Second At Hunter Ranch Golf Course

The Tigers traveled west on Highway 41, about 2 hours and 15 minutes to Paso Robles to play a neutral Big 8 Conference South Division Tournament #6 at Hunter Ranch Golf Course.  Weather forecasters had called for lots of sunshine with very little wind, making the scoring conditions exceptional for the afternoon round.  The Tigers shot a team score of 390, and 3 Tiger golfers posted scores under 80 (+8).  The Tigers came in 2nd place on the afternoon behind Monterey Peninsula College's very fine round of 376, by far their best round of the season.  Leading the way for the Tigers and shooting a +1 round of 73 was Emil Eriksson, who had 4 Birdies on the day.  Next was Jacob Moller, who posted a round of 78.  Jacob made 11 pars on the day, but unfortunately only had 1 Birdie on his card.  Cole Obrigewitsch fired a round of 79, even though he hit 14 of 18 GIR.  Josh Bennett and Miguel Villa each shot rounds of 80 to complete the Tigers' team score on the afternoon.  The Tigers made only 7 Birdies on the day as a team and struggled with their putting all afternoon. The Tigers hit a lot of fairways and greens, but the tough Hunter Ranch Golf Course greens got the best of the Reedley team.  The Tigers now have an overall record of 21-2-1 on the season, including 20-2-1 in the Big 8 South Division. Next up on the schedule is a tournament at Copper River Country Club in Fresno.  A shotgun start is slated to begin on Monday, March 28th  at 12:00 noon.
