Tigers Win By 23 Strokes At Home

On a warm, sunny and beautiful afternoon in the Central Valley, the Tigers came out and played a very efficient round of team golf at the Kings River Golf & Country Club in Kingsburg.  Reedley posted a team score of 378, 18 shots over par for the five counting scores, and tied for the 5th best team score in school history at Kings River GCC.  Leading the way was the trio of Sophomores Morgan Cooper, Xavier Coreno and Dylan Otto, who all shot terrific rounds of 2 over par 74's, and tied for 2nd place Individually on the day.  Tommy O'Rourke posted a solid round of 77, followed by Beau Willett, who carded a round of 79 to cap the scoring for the Tigers.  The Tigers five scorers were in the top 10 overall for the tournament, and enabled them to come away with victory #4 in the Big 8 Conference by 23 shots over Monterey Peninsula College.  Due to the difficulty of the Kings River GCC layout, none of the other four teams in the conference broke 400 for a team score.  The Tigers now have increased their lead in the conference point standings to 12, and have an overall record of 16-0 in the Big 8 South Division.  The win also enabled the Tigers to clinch at least a tie for the Conference Championship for 2019, and would be the 8th Championship in the last 9 years for the Reedley College men's golf program!  The Tigers are now 17-0 on the season, and play at Merced Golf & Country Club this Monday for Big 8 South Division Tournament #5.  Reedley College will be the host school for this neutral site conference tournament.  A shotgun start is scheduled for 12:00 noon in Merced.
