Men's Golf Wins At Coyote Creek By 10 Shots

The Tigers went on a road trip to San Jose and competed against their Big 8 Conference foes for Tournament #2.  The weather was sunny, but very cold, with temperatures in the low 50's and wind blowing up to 20 mph the entire afternoon, making scoring conditions extremely difficult at the very challenging Coyote Creek Golf Club, the Valley Course.  The Tigers shot a very respectable round of 387, and were the winning team by 10 shots on this difficult afternoon in the Bay Area.  The Tigers bested the 2nd place SJCC Jaguars on their home course.  The Tigers also defeated Fresno City by 20 strokes, Monterey Peninsula by 21 shots, and Taft by 53 strokes.   Leading the way for the Tigers was Dylan Otto, who posted a tournament Medalist round of 74 (+2)! Dylan made 4 Birdies on the day and played solid golf throughout his round. Bailey Flickinger fired a 3 over par round of 75, tying him for 2nd best score of the tournament. Bailey made the most out of his round as he did not hit the ball as solidly as he would have liked, but made many pars and finished with only 28 putts on the day.  Tommy O'Rourke and Xavier Coreno both posted rounds of 78, putting them in the Top 8 players overall for the day.  Only 9 players out of 30 broke 80 on the day. Morgan Cooper capped the scoring for the Tigers by shooting a round of 82.  The overall record for the Tigers now stands at 8-0 on the young season.  Next up on the schedule is a trip to Southern California to play in the Riverside City Tiger Invitational on Monday.  A shotgun start is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. at The Victoria Club, a 116-year old golf course set near downtown Riverside.
