Men's Basketball Results Against Cerro Coso

A second-half comeback fell short Saturday night as the Reedley College men's basketball Tigers fell to the Cerro Coso Community College Coyotes 71-66 in Reedley.

The loss dropped Coach T.J. Jennings' squad to 2-10 in the Central Valley Conference and 8-16 overall.

The Tigers started to battle back after Cerro Coso's top scorer, Jordan Pumphrey, fouled out of the contest with 9:28 remaining after scoring 16 points. But Colyn Waldron took control, scoring seven of his 12 points in the final eight minutes.

Sophomore Tyre Hicks (Beaverton, Oregon) sank three 3-pointers in the final nine minutes to get Reedley back in the contest but it wasn't enough. Uriah Carter (Central, Fresno) led all scorers with 17 points before fouling out with 9.6 seconds remaining. Ruben Parks (Edison, Fresno) made only one of his first nine shots and finished with 16 points while Hicks netted 13.

Reedley faced winless West Hills Lemoore in Lemoore on Feb. 13 before playing its final home contest at 6 pm on Saturday, Feb. 16 against the second place Columbia College Claim Jumpers (10-2, 19-5).
