Reedley Football Wins On The Road Over Santa Rosa Junior College

Make it 23 wins in the last 25 games for the Reedley College Tiger football team. The winning streak over the past two seasons was extended to 10 after Saturday's 34-10 victory over the Santa Rosa Junior College Bearcats in Santa Rosa.

Next up for the 3-0 Tigers will be a 2 p.m. matchup with the 1-2 Laney College Eagles. Laney broke into the win column Saturday with a 30-29 home win over Shasta College.

A 39-yard field goal by Laney's Jesse Manzo proved to be the difference. Eagle quarterback Carson Jarrett threw for 193 yards and one touchdown but was intercepted three times.

In Santa Rosa, sophomore quarterback Jordan Solomon (Las Vegas)threw for 232 yards and three touchdowns. Dinuba's Josh Magana also saw action, completing 9 of 12 in the air for 119 yards and a score.

After a scoreless first quarter, Solomon found Roman Rodriguez (Clovis North) for a four-yard scoring pass with 9:10 left in the first half. Parish Hayes caught his first of two scoring passes.

The Magana pass to Hayes increased the lead to 21-3 early in the second half. Santa Rosa cut the lead to 21-10 before an 84-yard touchdown pass from Solomon to Josh Higgins (Buchanan).

Tamicus Napier (Murfreesboro, TN) call south of scoring with a 3-yard touchdown run in the final two minutes. Napier finished the afternoon with 96 yards in 19 carries.

Michael Jordan (Monrovia)and Nathan Bohiken (Reedley) were named the team's Do-defensive players of the game.

Tiger head coach Rob Hartenfels said that Reedley has a tough game every week despite the opponents' current records. "Our guys are going to go out there and compete every week, no matter who,' said the coach.
