Tigers Sweep Golden Eagles In CVC Match

Reedley College made it look easy on Wednesday night in Reedley as the Lady Tigers swept the West Hills College Golden Eagle women's volleyball team in a Central Valley Conference match.

It took just over an hour for Reedley to record a 25-17, 25-15, 25-10 victory over the Lemoore school that is playing volleyball for the first time.

The Golden Eagles' only leads of the night came early in the opening set. Reedley trailed 4-2 before tying it after two errors and taking the lead for good on a Madison Monis kill.

Reedley scored the first three points of the second set and led 9-5 in the third set before holding off any West Hills comeback attempts.

Monis came off the bench to lead Reedley with 13 kills while outside hitter Kristy Berry followed with 10. Setter Houa Xiong had 33 assists while libero Samantha Rios had 18 digs.

With the victory, Reedley improved to 2-6 in the CVC, tying their Friday road opponent, West Hills Coalinga, for seventh place in the 10-team conference.
