Reedley College women's golf will travel to Sacramento to compete in the 14th annual Jan High Memorial Golf Tournament. Last year Reedley captured first place with a score of 125.
The tournament is held at the Bing Maloney Golf Course. This tournament will be played under the guidelines of a Modified Stableford Rules Scoring System. The tournament is scheduled to begin at noon.
Jan High was a fixture in Sacramento City College's athletic department, where she coached women's basketball, golf, and swimming between 1969 and 1999. High also served as the women's athletic director and interim dean of physical education during those years, before her retirement from City College in 1999. During her time at City College, High was an advocate of the federal Title IX law that states: "No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving federal financial assistance."
