Tigers wrap up CVC play with another victory, regionals this weeken

Under perfect weather conditions, with temperatures in the mid-70's, the Tigers played the beautiful Belmont Country Club golf course in southeast Fresno and shot a team score of 339, one of their best overall team scores for 2018!  The Tigers won the tournament by 2 shots over Fresno City College, and claimed their 3rd Central Valley Conference Championship in the past 4 years!!!  Leading the way for the Tigers was Serena DiMauro, who posted a round of 83. Eliza Hernandez came in with her best score of the season, as she shot an 84. Maddie Caesar, who played despite feeling very ill, played courageously and posted an 85 for the day.  Lauren Costa, Carley Lindlahr, and Serena Garcia all carded solid scores of 87.  Serena Garcia's 87 was her best round of the season.  The Tigers putted well on the Belmont C.C. greens on the afternoon, averaging just over 32 putts per player.  The greens were very firm, and the slopes of the greens made putting very difficult, but the Tigers were able to keep their shots below the hole and were able to putt aggressively.  Reedley was very satisfied with their effort, but know that they must continue to improve as they get prepared for the Post Season.  The 1st place finish enabled the Tigers to advance to the Northern California Regional Championships at Wildhorse Golf Course in Davis for the 4th year in the last 5.  The Tigers record in the Central Valley Conference finished at 23-1.  Overall the Tigers finished with the 3rd best regular season record in the history of the Tiger program!  Next up is the Post Season, and the Tigers are eagerly awaiting the opportunity to compete for the Regional Championship against the best teams from Northern California this upcoming weekend!
