Reedley Extends First Place Lead With Another Victory

Under beautiful weather conditions, with temperatures in the mid-80's, the Tigers battled the Lemoore Golf Course and shot a season-best team score of 332!!  The Tigers were able to win the C.V.C. Tournament by beating Fresno City College by 7 shots!  Leading the way for the Tigers was Serena DiMauro, who shot a tournament-best round of Even par 72.  Serena made 3 birdies in her round, and was in control of her golf game throughout the day. Maddie Caesar fired a solid round of 82.  Lauren Costa came in with a score of 87, her season best, and Carley Lindlahr rounded out the scoring with her lowest round in the C.V.C. this season, carding a 91.  The Tigers hit over 59% of their fairways during the round, which is a good indication of how sharp they were in putting themselves in excellent position off of the tee to approach the greens.  Reedley was satisfied with their effort, but know that they must keep improving as they get closer to the middle of the conference season.  The victory enables the Tigers to maintain their 1st place lead in the C.V.C. standings over second place Fresno City College by 4 points, and their record in conference now stands at 8-0.  Overall the Tigers have won all 4 of the C.V.C. tournaments on the season.  Reedley's next tournament will be played at Fig Garden Golf Club in Fresno on Tuesday.  Fresno City is the host school as the 2nd round of the Central Valley Conference golf season continues.  The tournament is scheduled to begin at 12:00 noon.
