Tiger Golf Opens Up 2018 At The Modesto Junior College Preseason Invitational

Under very warm weather conditions, with temperatures reaching over 95 degrees, the Tigers shot a team score of 357 at Tracy Country Club in Tracy at the Modesto Junior College Preseason Invitational.  The golf course played very long, nearly 5900 yards, and had many areas that were just hard pan dirt with no grass, which made the scoring very difficult for the players on the afternoon.  The Tigers finished tied for 1st with MJC on the day, defeating 6 other schools from Northern California.  Leading the way for the Tigers was Serena DiMauro, who took 3rd place individual honors with a solid round of 84.  Maddie Caesar came in with a gutsy round of 86, followed by Eliza Hernandez's score of 91.  Lauren Costa's round of 96 was the 4th and final score for the Tigers on the afternoon.  Serena DiMauro and Maddie Caesar were selected to the Top 6 All MJC Preseason Tournament Team!!  The Tigers should be very proud of their efforts on the day, and it was a great way to kick off the 2018 season for the Reedley College Women's Golf Team!  The focus shifts now to the Desert Classic in Palm Springs for a 36-hole, 2 day tournament in Southern California.  Santa Barbara City College will be the host school for the event, which will feature many of the best golf programs from the southern part of the state of California.  A shotgun start is scheduled for 7:00 am on Friday and Saturday mornings at Tahquitz Creek Golf Club.
