Reedley College Results From State Championships.

November 12-13, 2017  -    On a very warm and calm day on the Central Coast of California at the Morro Bay Golf Course, the Tigers had 2 individual players compete at the California Community College State Championships.  Hannah Lovering and Monique Torres-Jimenez, 2 of the Top 6 Individuals out of the Northern California Regionals last week in Taft, were the Tiger representatives for the 2017 State Championships. The conditions definitely played a factor on the day as the Tigers played terrific golf in Round #1.  Leading the way for the Tigers was the duo of Hannah Lovering and Monique Torres-Jimenez, who played well tee to green, as both players shot 75's.  The 2 Tigers were both in the Top 10 overall after the first day.  Round #2 proved to be a much better day for the Tigers.  Scoring was still very difficult because of the tough putting conditions.  Hannah Lovering made a significant difference for the Tigers, improving by 5 shots over her Sunday round, posting a 70 (-2).  Hannah's under par round was only 1 of 3 under par rounds carded in the Final Round. Monique Torres-Jimenez again hit the ball very solidly, and posted another score of 75. Individually, Hannah Lovering finished in 2nd place with her 145 (+1) total.  Hannah was named to the All-State Team for her efforts. Monique Torres-Jimenez finished in an 8th place finish with a 150 (+6) total, the 2nd best total for a Tiger golfer ever at the State Championships.  The Tigers had a fantastic season, and the chance for these 2 players to compete at State was a terrific way to end 2017!!  The Reedley College Tiger golf team accomplished a great deal this season.  Many great performances and accomplishments were set, and the Tigers have a tremendous amount to be proud of in 2017!
